Professional Writing for Theatre

Playwriting II is a writing and reading (and performing) course in creating new work for the stage. Students devote time to big and small plays: exploring the two poles of largesse and economy.

For their final project, each student was asked to submit a first draft of their play, with rewrites being considered and implemented as per teacher and peer feedback upon completion of their play
workshop. 12 workshops took place over Zoom during the pandemic.

The students received this additional note during Pandemic regarding how to adapt to covid
times in their final:

Usually in our class we share 10 minutes of new material and celebrate the terms
achievements. I want to adapt this part of the final for our COVID19 moment. I ask you to
consider the following question: How can presence be embodied, transmitted, and perceived
across cyberspace?
